Still Tracking
We're still verifying WestJet's current WiFi facts. The FAQs below cover general industry patterns — for WestJet-specific reports, search a flight or check the data hub.
Purchasing In-Flight WiFi
On WestJet flights that have not yet been upgraded to the Starlink system, passengers can purchase internet access through the WestJet Connect platform. Pricing typically varies based on the duration of access desired and the length of the flight. Options may include passes for a specific number of minutes, the entire flight, or a 24-hour period.
Typical Pricing and Payment
While prices can vary, examples of paid WiFi options on non-Starlink aircraft include approximately $11 CAD for 90 minutes, $22 CAD for the duration of the flight, or $33 CAD for a 24-hour pass. Some flights may also offer a lower-cost messaging-only package. Payment is typically made via credit card once connected to the "WestJet Connect" WiFi network in-flight.
Maximizing Value and Avoiding Costs
The most effective way to avoid paying for WestJet's in-flight WiFi is to become a WestJet Rewards member, as this grants free access on Starlink-equipped aircraft. If your flight is not yet upgraded, consider checking if your credit card offers a complimentary Boingo membership for free access on the older system. Always verify WiFi availability and pricing for your specific flight in advance to plan accordingly.
