Qantas offers completely free in-flight Wi-Fi across all cabin classes on eligible Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft. There are no tier-based fees, hidden costs, time limits, or password requirements to access the service.
Domestic and Trans-Tasman Coverage
Free unlimited Wi-Fi is available on Qantas' domestic Boeing 737-800, Airbus A330, and Airbus A220-300 fleets, powered by the NBN Sky Muster satellite network. This free service also extends to trans-Tasman and select short international routes via Sky Muster, with coverage strongest over Australian airspace. Connectivity can be varied outside Australian waters until the Viasat retrofit is complete.
International Rollout Progress
The free Viasat Wi-Fi is progressively rolling out across Qantas' international widebody fleet. Activation began on some Asia routes in March 2025 with retrofitted A330s. The Boeing 787 program started at the beginning of 2026, with most Dreamliners now equipped. The Airbus A380 fleet is next, though the full rollout for these aircraft is now anticipated by early 2027, meaning some older A380s on routes like London and Los Angeles remain unequipped. New Airbus A350-1000s, launching in 2026 for Project Sunrise flights, will be delivered with linefit Viasat.
