Details
AIRLINE: Qatar Airways
AIRCRAFT: Boeing 787-8
STARLINK: Uncertain (older Inmarsat GX Aviation "Super Wi-Fi" or other provider is likely available)
Qatar Airways is in the process of rolling out Starlink, a high-speed, low-latency satellite internet service, across its fleet. The airline has completed the installation of Starlink on its entire Boeing 777 fleet. The installation on Airbus A350 aircraft is currently underway and is expected to be completed within approximately a year from July 2025.
For aircraft not yet equipped with Starlink, including the Boeing 787-8 typically used for flight QR664, Qatar Airways offers Wi-Fi services, which historically included "Super Wi-Fi" powered by Inmarsat's GX Aviation on some aircraft. These non-Starlink equipped flights are stated to have Wi-Fi available. On these flights, Qatar Privilege Club members receive one hour of complimentary internet, while Qatar Student Club members enjoy unlimited high-speed internet. Otherwise, Wi-Fi passes can be purchased, with prices starting from $10 and a 20% discount if purchased before the flight.
As of December 2025, there is no definitive information confirming that Starlink has been fully rolled out to the entire Boeing 787-8 fleet. Therefore, while Wi-Fi is likely available, it is uncertain if it will be the high-speed Starlink service or the airline's previous Wi-Fi offering. Starlink, where available, offers speeds up to 500 megabits per second and is complimentary for all passengers.
