Iberia WiFi: Complete Guide 2026
Planning a flight on Iberia and want to know what to expect from the onboard WiFi? Below: the provider, typical speeds, and a clear answer on whether it's free — without the rollouts and news clutter (those live on the data hub).
Still Tracking
We're still verifying Iberia's current WiFi facts. The FAQs below cover general industry patterns — for Iberia-specific reports, search a flight or check the data hub.
Provider Summary
Iberia's in-flight WiFi is delivered by panasonic. Speed and free-vs-paid availability vary by aircraft and route — check the data hub for aircraft-specific status. Typical speeds for panasonic-equipped aircraft industry-wide: 5–40 Mbps typical; constrained on full long-haul flights.
New Era of Connectivity with Starlink
From 2026, Iberia is transitioning its in-flight WiFi services to Starlink, a low-Earth-orbit satellite network developed by SpaceX. This initiative is part of a group-wide deal by IAG Loyalty, Iberia's parent company, to equip its Airbus mainline fleet, including A320 family, A330, and A350 aircraft. The rollout of Starlink connectivity across the fleet will begin in 2026.
Exceptional Speeds and Gate-to-Gate Access
The new Starlink service is designed to provide high-speed, low-latency internet, aiming for a 'connected like home' experience. Iberia is quoting download speeds of up to 450 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 70 Mbps. This advanced connectivity will be available gate-to-gate, allowing passengers to connect from the moment they board until they land, even over oceans and remote regions.
Enhanced Onboard Experience
Passengers can expect to use the Starlink WiFi for activities such as live streaming, video calls, cloud document access, e-commerce, and online gaming. The service will support multiple devices per passenger without requiring separate logins or passes. This represents a significant upgrade from previous in-flight connectivity options.
