Eurowings In-flight WiFi: Wings Connect and Starlink
Eurowings currently offers in-flight WiFi under the name Wings Connect. This service is available on selected flights and aircraft within their fleet. Looking ahead, the Lufthansa Group, which includes Eurowings, is in the process of a major upgrade to Starlink high-speed internet. The rollout of Starlink began in the second half of 2026, with the first Lufthansa Group aircraft equipped in August 2026.
Connectivity and Speed Expectations
With the existing Wings Connect service, passengers can expect speeds suitable for basic messaging with the Chat package, offering up to 150 kbps. Higher tiers, such as Connect 30/60 and Connect Premium, provide speeds up to 1.5 Mbps, which supports general internet browsing. The transition to Starlink promises significantly higher bandwidth and speed, aiming for an online experience comparable to ground-based internet. This upgrade will enable activities like streaming, cloud-based working, and gaming during flights.
Where to Find Eurowings WiFi
Wings Connect is available on a portion of Eurowings' Airbus A319, A320, and A330 aircraft. However, it is important to note that the service may not be available on all aircraft types or routes. Passengers can typically connect to the "Eurowings WiFi" network after takeoff, usually above 10,000 feet, and access the Wings Connect portal through their device's browser. The ongoing Starlink rollout will eventually equip all aircraft across the Lufthansa Group fleet by 2029, making high-speed internet more widely available.
