Complimentary Messaging on Long-Haul Flights
Discover Airlines introduced free and unlimited messaging on its long-haul flights starting in summer 2025. This service allows passengers to use common messaging applications like WhatsApp and iMessage without charge.
Access to the free messaging package is available at cruising altitude, typically from about 10 minutes after takeoff until 10 minutes before landing, and can be enabled via the FlyNet/Telekom Portal.
Future Free Access with Starlink
With the ongoing Starlink rollout across the Lufthansa Group fleet, including Discover Airlines, free high-speed internet access is planned for all Miles & More members and Travel ID users. This complimentary service will be available across all travel classes once the Starlink technology is installed on the aircraft.
Passengers will need to be registered as a Travel ID user or a Miles & More member and log in with their credentials onboard to access the free internet. The full fleet upgrade is expected to be completed by 2029, so availability will vary during the transition period.
