Complimentary WiFi for AAdvantage Members
American Airlines launched free, high-speed Wi-Fi for all AAdvantage members in January 2026, sponsored by AT&T. This complimentary service is available across approximately 90% of the airline's fleet. It covers all single-aisle narrowbody aircraft (Airbus A319, A320, A321, and Boeing 737), all dual-class American Eagle regional aircraft, and select Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 widebodies equipped with Viasat or Intelsat. Joining the AAdvantage program is free and can be done before or during your flight.
Current Limitations of Free Wi-Fi
While the free Wi-Fi rollout is extensive, it does not yet cover all aircraft. Long-haul international flights primarily operated by Boeing 777-200s, 777-300ERs, and some 787s that are equipped with Panasonic Wi-Fi systems still require a paid pass. American Airlines has plans to retrofit these remaining widebody aircraft with Viasat or Intelsat systems, with a target for 100% fleetwide free Wi-Fi by the end of 2026.
